AZ-305 Exam Pacing Timer
Start the clock when your exam starts. See the time left, the budget per question and whether you are on pace.
Exam settings
Prefilled with 100 minutes. The exam guide says: "Associate and expert role-based exams without labs" have an "Exam duration" of "100 minutes", and exams that "may contain labs" have "120 minutes". The guide does not say which AZ-305 sittings include labs, and says "When you register you're given the exam time". Change this to the time on your booking. The guide also says "5 minutes are built into the exam time for unscheduled breaks", so the 5 minutes are already inside this total.
Not stated for AZ-305 in the exam guide, so this box is left blank. The guide says "Most Microsoft Certification exams typically have 40–60 questions" and that "the number varies and is subject to change". Enter the number of questions for your exam.

How it works
- The timer runs only in this page. Press Start when the exam starts. Pause here does not pause the exam: the guide says "the exam clock keeps running", so keep this timer running through breaks too.
- Budget per question is the total time divided by the number of questions, rounded down to whole seconds. The leftover seconds are shown as spare time and are not given to any question.
- Time per remaining question is the time left divided by the questions still open, with the same rounding.
- Status compares time used with the share of the exam that the answered questions should have taken. Ahead means less time has gone than that share, on track means it matches, and behind means more time has gone.
- Case studies: the guide gives no separate time for them. It says "You can also break during a case study, but afterwards you can't return to any question you saw before the break."
- Nothing is saved or sent. This page does not store or send what you enter. Closing or reloading it clears the timer and the numbers.
